Job summary

Grey Eagle Casino in Calgary seeks a Line Cook to prepare and serve hot and cold menu items, following recipes and portion controls. You will work across stations, use grills, ovens, fryers and more, and help mentor Prep Cooks when needed.

Applicants should have several years of line cook experience in large operations, with knowledge of food safety and a strong team-focused approach in a high-volume setting. This on-site role offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 years ongoing line cook experience in large-scale foodservice operations.
• Casino food and beverage operational experience is a plus.
• Post-secondary education in Hospitality or Culinary Management is an asset.
• Reports to Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef or Supervisor.
• Set up station and prepare for shift; may work another station or events.
• Follow recipes and portion control; cook to proper temperatures.
• Maintain sanitary, safe, and organized stations.
• Develop and maintain positive workplace relationships with Casino staff and patrons.

Responsibilities

• Set up station with all necessary items for the shift.
• Prepare and assemble orders according to recipes and timing.
• Plate dishes attractively according to standards.
• Maintain and clean own station and surrounding areas.
• Assist with training Prep Cooks and Kitchen Helpers as needed.
• Work at a fast pace, ensuring accuracy and timing.
