Job summary

Roadhouse- Smithers in Smithers, BC is seeking a dedicated kitchen teammate for an on-site, fast-paced restaurant role. The position offers $21.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, and permanent employment starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean and safe food preparation areas, regulating oven temperatures, ensuring proper portion sizes, stocking stations, and assisting during peak periods. Requires a high school diploma and 2–3 years of restaurant experience.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a restaurant setting.
  • On-site work required; no remote option.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and clean, and maintain food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, roasters and other kitchen equipment to ensure proper cooking.
  • Follow restaurant standards for portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and procedures.
  • Ensure quality of products served.
  • Stock and maintain adequate levels of food at line stations for smooth service.
  • Handle, store and rotate all food products according to policies.
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
  • Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
  • Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations.

  • Responsible for the quality of products served.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all food products and supplies according to restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
