Job description

Position Summary

Telehandler Operators assist in moving and lifting pipe spools, trailers, and other miscellaneous materials around the project site. They are also required to perform various labour duties on the ground as needed.

Employees are expected to support a “culture of safety”, adhere to Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

PROJECT DETAILS

• Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
• Nearest City: Prince George, B.C. (Camp Project)
• Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
• Travel pay: $400/shift
• Camp retention: $25/day

Core Accountabilities

• Assist in aligning pipes and related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction.
• Operate a telehandler to move and lift pipe spools, load trailers, and transport other materials.
• Assist other tradespeople as required.
• Conduct pre-operational checks, clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.
• Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices.
• Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify hazards and measures to mitigate them.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Qualifications

Education

• Must have a telehandler operator ticket.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

• Pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working outdoors.

Safety Tickets Required

• CSTS 2020 or CSO.
• Bear or Wildlife Awareness course.
• Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED or OFA 1 Training Certificate.
• WHIMIS 2015 (available upon onboarding).
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (available upon onboarding).
