Grouse Mountain Resort in North Vancouver is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor for the Winter 26/27 season. You will oversee the Lift Operations team, ensuring a safe, exceptional experience for guests and staff, and you will lead by example with strong leadership skills.
This role emphasizes coaching, daily shift coordination, and adherence to safety procedures for all lift systems, with outdoor work in all weather conditions and flexible scheduling.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience preferred, minimum 1 season winter operations experience.
- Intermediate skiing/snowboarding ability.
- Familiarity with Grouse Mountain Resort policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of detachable, fixed grip, tow and conveyor lift systems.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Lead by example with a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
Responsibilities
- Coaching and overseeing lift operations staff.
- Conduct lift operations meetings for each shift and arrange staff breaks.
- Assist with pre-operational checks, closing procedures, and daily lift inspections.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels for efficient lift operation.
- Coach and motivate staff to uphold high customer service standards.
- Train staff on operating and safety procedures for a fixed grip chairlift.
- Organize daily assignments to lift stations and coordinate lunches.
- Report guest comments, staff relations issues and liability concerns to the Duty Manager.
- Assist with transport and provide labor for various jobs.

As a Lift Operations Supervisor, you oversee the execution of the Lift Operations team. You are a key and important member of the Mountain Operations team, ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for all Lift Operation crew members and mountain guests. You lead by example and possess excellent leadership skills.
- Coaching and overseeing lift operations staff
- Assist in conducting lift operations meetings for every shift and arranging for staff breaks
- Assisting with pre-operational checks & closing procedures and conducting daily lift inspections
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels for efficient lift operation
- Coaching and motivating staff to maintain a high standard of customer service
- Training staff on all operating and safety procedures of a fixed grip chairlift
- Organizing daily assignments to lift stations and coordinating scheduled lunch breaks
- Reporting guest comments, employee relation issues and liability concerns directly to the Duty Manager
- Assisting with transport and providing labor for various jobs
- Other duties as required
This position provides direct supervision to the Lift Operator team.
- Supervisory experience preferred, minimum 1 season winter operations experience
- Minimum intermediate level skiing/snowboarding ability
- Knowledge of Grouse Mountain Resort policies and procedures
- Knowledge of detachable, fixed grip, tow and conveyor lift systems

Lift Operations Supervisors perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
$22.66 to $26.50
