Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Lifeskills Support Worker to join an interprofessional team under the Team Leader. The role focuses on applying best practices to help individuals maximize independent living according to each plan of care.

Under supervision, provide services aligned with the patient’s goals, with emphasis on collaboration, communication, and community integration in Terrace, BC.

Qualifications

• Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program or Residential Care Aide program.
• Grade 12 plus Community Mental Health Worker Certificate and Addictions Studies Certificate with three years’ related experience.
• Valid BC driver’s license, First Aid, CPR and Food Safe.

Position Summary

Are you a Lifeskills Support Worker looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to Northern Health. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Primary Care Life Skills Support Worker functions as a member of the interprofessional team, under the direction of the Team Leader. This position applies best practice to provide people with services as outlined in an individual’s plan of care, with the goal of maximizing independent living.

Qualfications

• Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program, or Residential Care Aide program, two (2) years’ recent, related experience working with people with complex health issues, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Or Grade 12 plus a Community Mental Health Worker Certificate and Addictions Studies Certificate plus three (3) years recent related experience working with adults with mental illness and/or addictions diagnosis; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid B.C. driver's license.
• Valid First Aid Certificate, CPR and Food Safe.
