Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking a Lifesaving Instructor and Examiner for the Stavro YMCA H&F Centre in Toronto. The role involves teaching courses, assessing participants, and ensuring safety and lifeguarding procedures are followed.

This contract hourly part-time position supports lifeguard and aquatic programming with early mornings, days, evenings and weekends required. Prior Lifesaving Society certifications and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Lifesaving Society certifications including NL, Standard First Aid & CPR C, Lifesaving Instructor and Examiner are required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with participants and colleagues.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach aquatic courses and ensure safety and lifeguarding procedures are followed.
• Deliver course content and assess participants according to Lifesaving Society criteria.
• Plan, organize and deliver lesson plans and adapt to different learning styles.
