Job description

Join our team as a Life Enrichment Aide!

Under the direction of the Life Enrichment Coordinator, the Life Enrichment Aide will be responsible for delivering Life Enrichment Services, implementing and communicating a schedule of recreation and social activities to residents and families. These activities will be offered during days, evenings, and weekends, and include indoor and outdoor recreation, leisure, and outings that benefit all residents and reflect their interests. The role also involves providing opportunities for resident and family input into the development and scheduling of activities.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field from a community college or university; or
  • Enrollment in a community college or university in a relevant diploma or degree program as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation ss. 73/22 (1);
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in Geriatric rehabilitation or Long-Term Care preferred;
  • Active interest in ongoing education;
  • Flexibility, innovation, and creativity;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada;
  • Ability to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, tuberculosis screening, a current criminal reference check including vulnerable sector screening, and two supervisory references.
