Job summary

PwC Canada in Toronto is seeking a Life Actuary Associate within Risk Modelling Services (RMS). You will contribute to risk modeling, solvency, economic capital, and IFRS 17 advisory work for clients across sectors.

You’ll collaborate with senior actuaries on actuarial valuations, capital reviews, product development, and regulatory reporting. You will work with analytics and insurance systems modernization, model governance, AXIS modeling, and cross-functional teams to deliver client solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in an actuarial role in the life insurance industry.
• Knowledge of IFRS 17, investment, hedging, stochastic modeling.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Alteryx, Python) is an asset.
• Proven ability using Moody's AXIS and MS Office.
• Strong client service and relationships.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
• Clear written and verbal communication; explain actuarial concepts to varied audiences.
• Commitment to valuing differences and collaborating with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Support a broad range of consulting services and audit engagements on actuarial valuations, capital review and IFRS 17 work.
• Work on AXIS modeling, advanced analytics, and insurance systems modernization.
• Collaborate across Advisory, Deals, Assurance, Tax and Data Analytics.
• Progress toward leading engagements and teams.
• Coach and train junior staff to deliver results.
