Job summary

TRI-AIR Systems in Markham is seeking a G1 HVAC Service Mechanic to join our union shop. Must hold a G1 gas license and be able to install, repair, test and troubleshoot a range of HVAC equipment, including RTUs, boilers, chillers and air handlers.

As a full-time team member, you will perform preventative maintenance, educate clients on proper operation, handle emergency service calls, diagnose issues, order parts, fill reports, and build lasting relationships with customers throughout the GTA.

Qualifications

• Licensed Mechanic (313A) or registered apprentice
• G1 gas license is mandatory
• Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot HVAC equipment (RTUs, boilers, air-cooled chillers, make-up airs, air handlers, heaters etc.)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
• Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job
• Ability to work independently without much supervision
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
• Driver's license and a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to effectively manage time

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment.
• Educating our client on how to use and maintain their equipment.
• Perform scheduled and emergency service on a variety of HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them.
• Order parts needed for repairs if needed.
• Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed.
• Complete quote sheets for work recommended.
• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients.
