Job summary

Aecon Utilities Engineering is seeking a licensed Stations Engineer to support planning, design, and execution of electrical stations and substations across North America.

This professional role requires a P.Eng. designation in Ontario or a PE license in Michigan, 3–7 years of utility engineering experience, and the ability to stamp deliverables where allowed. Hybrid office/field work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or PE in Michigan.
  • 3–7 years of utility engineering/substation experience.
  • Experience with power system studies and protection coordination.
  • Ability to stamp and seal engineering deliverables where allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and design for substations and related infra.
  • Prepare and review drawings, calculations, specs, and reports.
  • Develop station layouts, grounding, routing, equipment layouts.
  • Coordinate protection, SCADA, comms, and station support systems.
  • Support procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Stamp and seal deliverables in accordance with jurisdiction.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review vendor submittals.
  • Assist with proposals, estimates, and pursuits.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
P.Eng./Professional Engineer license (Ontario)
PE license (Michigan)
