A health services provider in Red Deer is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join their pediatric unit. This role requires providing quality patient care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in practical nursing, be registered with the appropriate nursing body in Alberta, and have strong communication and organizational skills. Recent experience in pediatric care is preferred. The position offers a part-time schedule with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
We're looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse who can demonstrate a past practice of excellence in nursing care delivery, interpersonal and human relation skills. The preferred successful candidate will: Two years of recent satisfactory experience. Current pediatric experience and/or evidence of ongoing professional development related to pediatrics A philosophy of Family Centered care. A willingness to support and work well within a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate positive outcome for child and family Evidence of ongoing professional development. Applicable advanced certification within the desired/specific specialty area. Be a mature, motivated, self-directed person with demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills as evidenced by performance appraisals, reference checks and interview participation. Be able to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team, in the provision of family focused care. Have up-to-date computer training. IV initiation competence is desirable. Must be physically able to handle job requirements.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Ability and availability to pick up a combination of days, evenings, nights, weekends and short-call shifts.
Recent Pediatric experience preferred.
