Job description

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC.

In accordance with the mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Reporting to the Program Lead or Designate and working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents according to established policies, procedures, and the Standards of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia. The LPN functions as an independent practitioner but recognizes situations such as increased patient acuity or care outside the scope of an LPN where collaborative support and/or clinical intervention from an RN/RPN is appropriate. The LPN assists patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs, consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Northern Health and established protocols. Responsibilities include developing care plans, conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating interventions, documenting information, and acting as an advocate for patients/residents. The LPN participates in meetings including care conferences and assists with orientation of new staff and students as needed. They respond to and report incidents according to established procedures and perform clerical duties as required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
