Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Long-term Care team at Kimberley Special Care Home in Kimberley, BC. This relief part-time role (0.84) supports day and night shifts, 15:00–23:05 and 23:00–07:05, until December 31, 2027 or return of the incumbent.

You will perform assessments and plans, administer medications, and work with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality nursing care in a supportive, patient-centred environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Operates in accordance with the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BCCNM and organizational policies.

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Relief Part Time (0.84) opportunity until December 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 15:00 to 23:05, 23:00 to 07:05 hours.

The Kimberly Special Care Home is a Long-term Care site located in Kimberley, BC. The building is on one level with ground floor basement access. We have 51 private rooms and two double rooms, two dining rooms, three lounge areas, and two laundry rooms.
