Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Long-term Care team at Hardy View Lodge in Grand Forks, BC. This Relief Full Time position supports nursing assessments, medications, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Shifts rotate days and evenings from 07:00 to 14:26, 15:00 to 23:00, and 07:00 to 15:00. Current BC practicing licensure and CPR are required, with a focus on patient-centered care and well-being.

Qualifications

• Registered, current full practicing licensure with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• CPR certification required.
• LPN scope of practice with multidisciplinary care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides nursing care with the team.
• Administers medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular) per policies.
• Works within BCCNM standards and organizational protocols.

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until May 15, 2028, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and evenings rotating from 07:00 to 14:26, 15:00 to 23:00, 07:00 to 15:00 hours.

About this Location

Hardy View Lodge (HVL), located in Grand Forks at Boundary Hospital, embodies a patient-centered philosophy designed to support patients’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility is an 80 bed facility with five cottage style units. 60 beds are all individual with showers in the bathroom area. The 20 bed unit has two semi private rooms and the remaining 16 rooms are private.

Qualfications

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Current CPR certification required
