Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Long‑term Care team at Overlander Extended Care, Kamloops, BC. This role requires reliability, flexibility and motivation in a fast-paced environment.

The position is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity with shifts scheduled evenings and nights from 15:00 to 23:00 and 23:00 to 07:00, located in Kamloops, BC. Training, benefits and pension are provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as an LPN and eligible to practice
• Experience performing patient assessments and care planning
• Administration of oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and plans, and provides nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Administers prescribed medications in line with policies and procedures.
• Operates within BC College of Nurses and Midwives standards and organizational protocols

About The Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population.
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled evenings and nights rotating from 15:00 to 23:00 and 23:00 to 07:00 hours.
