Job summary

Direct Nursing Services Canada Ltd. is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Casa Mia in Vancouver, BC. The role focuses on resident-centered care, admissions and transfers, and close collaboration with the care team to deliver high quality services.

You will administer medications, document care using PointClickCare/eMAR, and participate in care conferences to support residents’ wellbeing. Excellent English, CPR/First Aid, and BC licensure are required; long-term care experience is

Qualifications

• Active LPN registration with BCCNM
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (PointClickCare, eMAR)
• Strong English communication (verbal and written)
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making
• Experience in long-term care (preferred)

• Support resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Complete assessments and contribute to individualized care planning
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care
• Document care in PointClickCare and perform MDS assessments
• Liaise with physicians, families, and inter-disciplinary teams

Now Hiring: Licensed Practical Nurses (Full-Time)

Location: Casa Mia - Vancouver, BC

Working hours: 4 days on / 2 days off (2 morning shifts - 2 evening shifts).

About Casa Mia

Casa Mia offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views.

This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a heritage estate setting and modern best practice care.

Casa Mia works in partnership with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

What You'll Do

As an LPN, you'll play a vital role in providing resident-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Completing assessments and contributing to individualized care planning
• Administering medications, treatments, and wound care
• Documenting care in PointClickCare and completing MDS assessments
• Liaising with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Delegating tasks to care aides and participating in care conferences and medication reviews

What You Bring

• Active registration as an LPN in good standing with BCCNM
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Proficiency in electronic documentation systems (e.g., PointClickCare, eMAR)
• Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Effective critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Previous experience in long-term care (preferred)
