Job summary

Select Senior Services is hiring a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse for Lakeshore Care Centre in Coquitlam, BC. You will support admissions, assessments, medications, and care planning while documenting care in PointClickCare and coordinating with the care team.

The role emphasizes strong English communication, critical thinking, and experience in long-term care. This is a casual, on-site position supporting a compassionate, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• Active LPN registration in good standing with BCCNM.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (PointClickCare, eMAR).
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Complete assessments and contribute to individualized care planning.
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care.
• Document care in PointClickCare and complete MDS assessments.
• Liaise with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Delegate tasks to care aides and participate in care conferences and medication reviews.

Location: Lakeshore Care Centre - Coquitlam, BC

About Lakeshore

Lakeshore offers 56 licensed residential care beds; 35 Fraser Health subsidized care beds and 21 private pay. Care beds are primarily single occupancy with limited double occupancy available. Our rooms are both private and semi-private. Our home is conveniently one story and has large outdoor patios where many activities are held throughout the spring and summer months. Lakeshore Care Center works in collaboration with the Fraser Health Authority.

What You'll Do
