Job summary

Direct Nursing Services Canada Ltd. is hiring Casual Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Vancouver team serving residents at Casa Mia and surrounding facilities.

You will provide resident-centered care in a supportive, respectful environment. As an LPN, you’ll assist with admissions, assessments, medication administration, wound care, and care planning, while collaborating with physicians, families, and the interprofessional team.

Qualifications

• Active LPN registration with BCCNM is required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience with PointClickCare and eMAR is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Good critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Long-term care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Complete assessments and contribute to individualized care planning
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care
• Document care in PointClickCare and complete MDS assessments
• Liaising with physicians, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Delegating tasks to care aides and participating in care conferences and medication reviews

Location: Casa Mia – Vancouver, BC

About Casa Mia

Casa Mia offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views.

This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a heritage estate setting and modern best practice care.

Casa Mia works in partnership with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

What You’ll Do

As an LPN, you’ll play a vital role in providing resident-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

What You Bring

• Active registration as an LPN in good standing with BCCNM
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Proficiency in electronic documentation systems (e.g., PointClickCare, eMAR)
• Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Effective critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Previous experience in long-term care (preferred)
