Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC. You will perform assessments and provide nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting.

The role involves administering medications and working within the Standards of Practice outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, with day and night shifts rotating from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse in BC with current registration.
• Active CPR/First Aid as required by IH.
• Compliance with BC College of Nurses and Midwives standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and plans, and provides personal and nursing care in collaboration with the team.
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications per policy.
• Operates within BC CNMs Standards of Practice and IH protocols.

About The Job

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.71) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.
