Position: Licensed Practical Nurse

Under the direction of the Manager or designate and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides care to complex but stable residents/clients. Responsibilities include performing assessments, planning and providing personal care, and executing nursing procedures. The LPN operates within the full scope of practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
• MHSU positions require additional education as outlined by BCCNM for practice involving primary diagnosis of Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with residents, families, co-workers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
• Ability to deal effectively with others.
• Organizational skills to plan and implement care.
• Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice, including medication administration.
