Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for the Peter Lougheed Centre Emergency Department in Calgary. The department is expanding to full capacity by early 2026, with a fast-paced, collaborative team delivering high-quality patient care.

Reporting to the Unit Manager, LPNs will provide care to patients across acuity, uphold CLPNA standards, and ensure safe, patient-centered care within legislative requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with CLPNA.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Graduate from an approved Practical Nurse program.
• 2-4 years’ experience as an LPN.
• Current BLS - Heart and Stroke.
• Current active practice permit with the CLPNA.
• Minimum one year nursing experience obtained within the past 2 years working greater than 0.70 FTE
