Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Emergency Department team at Sturgeon Community Hospital in Edmonton Zone, St. Albert. This role supports safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centred care within an interprofessional team.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited practical nurse program, active or eligible LPN registration with CLHA, and a current BCLS-HCP. Experience in emergency settings within the last 2 years is preferred, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Experience as an LPN in an Emergency Department within the last 2 years.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in an Emergency Department is required within the last 2 years. Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. Basic computer skills, familiarity with Connect Care, Netcare and PYXIS. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of the English language. Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision. Physical capability of performing all aspects of the role (bending, crouching, kneeling, overhead lifting, and mobilization of bariatric patients). Up to date N95 Mask Fitting.
