Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking licensed practical nurses to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to residents across independent, assisted and memory care settings. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, follow care plans, document care, and support families through transitions.

How YOU make a difference

• LPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.
• LPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication.
• LPNs implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required.
• LPNs complete and ensure resident's clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required.
• LPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.

What YOU bring

• Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable province
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
