Job summary

Mint Health + Drugs seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing team at Bluebottle Pharmacy in Calgary. In this casual role you’ll support patient assessments, administer medications and injections, and coordinate care with pharmacy and healthcare professionals.

Active LPN license with valid permit is required, plus 1 year of LPN experience (home health preferred). Competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, along with free on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license with valid permit.
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year LPN experience; home health preferred.
• Enhanced Criminal Record Check.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and monitor health status.
• Administer injections for vaccines as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate patients on health management and treatment plans.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
• Coordinate care between care providers, facility staff, and pharmacy team.
• Address patient questions and concerns.
• Oversee daily dosing for opioid therapy as required.
• Nursing assessments for signs of intoxication or withdrawal.

Education & Qualifications

• Active registration and valid practice permit
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program
• 1 year experience practicing as an LPN, home health service delivery preferred.
• Enhanced Criminal Record Check
• A valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and monitor health status
• Administer injections for flu and travel vaccines
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Educate patients on health management and treatment plans
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans
• Care coordination between care providers, facility staff, and pharmacy team
• Address patientquestions and concerns
• Daily witnessed dosing of Opioid Agonist Therapy
• Nursing assessment for signs of intoxication and/or withdrawal symptoms
• Administration of monthly injections such as insulin, Abilify, Invega
• Provide exceptional customer service and care
  

Experience & Skills

• Experience with patient assessments
• Working knowledge in related field
• Familiarization with technology
• Experience in addiction & mental health fields is an asset
• Community health LPN, Home Care LPN,or similar experience is an asset
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in patient care
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in AB
