AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents at SkyPointe in Calgary, Alberta.

This temporary-part-time role includes supervising Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers to ensure compassionate, high-quality care. The successful candidate will have a 2-year LPN diploma, knowledge of health legislation, and a passion for palliative and hospice care.

Qualifications

• 2 Year Canadian LPN Diploma from an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of palliative and hospice care nursing.
• Awareness of relevant health acts and standards in Canada.
• Compassion and empathy toward residents at end of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional standards.

The Opportunity

The Licensed Practical Nurse( LPN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. This role supervises the activities and provides direction to the Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.

What You Bring

• A sound knowledge and background in Palliative and Hospice Care Nursing and skills
• 2 Year Canadian Licensed practical Nurse Diploma from an Accredited Post-Secondary Institution
• Awareness of appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada) Health Promotion and Protection Act,
• Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically Hospice Nursing care.
• Compassion, empathy, sympathy towards Residents at end of life.
• Passion for Palliative and Hospice Care
