About the Job:

1. Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population.
2. Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.
3. Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions.

Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $32.84 to $41.35.

The 100 Mile hospital is a 16 bed rural hospital, centrally located right in downtown 100 Mile House. It is surrounded by a vast amount of outdoor activity including lakes, hikes, biking and dirt bike trails, snow shoeing, downhill skiing, and skating. OMH offers Emergency, ACU/Chemo, Cysto and acute care services in a very busy setting. We receive approximately 13,000 ER patients per year and consistently maintain a high occupancy rate with a pediatric population of 1300 to 1500 patients annually in our ER.

Mill Site Lodge & Fischer Place, located in 100 Mile House, embodies a client-centered philosophy designed to support clients’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility has 79 private rooms, all equipped with ceiling lifts, and five short-stay beds, including one palliative care suite.

Guided walking tours to wetlands, ponds, and marshes in the area are usually first on visitors’ lists when they arrive at this remarkable town. Three kilometres north of 100 Mile House you will reach the turnoff that heads east to Canim Lake. During summer this beautiful area is fantastic for hiking, canoeing, boating, and fishing. Winter brings backcountry skiing, as well as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dogsledding, and sleigh rides.

Qualifications

1. Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
2. Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
