Qualifications

  • Must have current registration in CLPNM and certification in Heart Saver or B.C.L.S.
  • Preferred three years of experience in Geriatric and/or Rehabilitative Nursing.

POSITION SUMMARY
  • Assumes responsibility for coordinating and planning resident care on their designated shift.
  • Directs all levels of nursing staff on the designated shift to ensure that optimal quality of care is provided to all residents.
  • Fosters a client-focused, multidisciplinary team approach to resident care.
  • Practices within the CLPNM standards of nursing care and in accordance with Simkin Centre policies and procedures.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Current registration in the College of Licensed Practical Nurses (CLPNM).
  • Current certification in Heart Saver or B.C.L.S.
  • Continuing education courses related to gerontology, ethics, and leadership, and upgrading in current nursing skills are assets.
Skills and Experience
  • Preferred three years of experience in Geriatric and/or Rehabilitative Nursing.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
  • High level of human relations skills.
Other
  • Must be innovative, self-motivated, and progressive.
  • Good performance and attendance record.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
