Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of a healthcare team, collaborating to deliver patient care. The LPN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in consultation with RN and NP colleagues to meet the needs of more complex patients. The LPN is responsible and accountable for practice according to the Standards of Practice set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). This position is based at Nanton Silver Willow Supportive Living, located 70 km south of Calgary.

As an LPN, you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, skill level, and AHS policies. Your role is vital in providing safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, reflecting AHS's shared vision and values.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the CLPNA.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and accept direction.
  • Critical thinking, clinical judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within scope of practice.
  • Dementia and charge nurse experience are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience, geriatric, supportive living, continuing care, or palliative care experience are assets.
