Job summary

Sidney All Care Residence is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the care of residents under the supervision of the Director of Care and Registered Nurse. You will lead Health Care Aides, monitor health status, and administer medications per physician orders within established policies.

The ideal candidate holds a Nursing diploma with BCCNM registration, demonstrates clinical competence, and can communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Health Care Aides on the unit.
• Ongoing assessments of residents' health status including vital signs, behavior, falls, pain, skin integrity and care level reviews.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures per physician orders and policies.
• Participate in admissions, discharges and transfers per policies.
• Contribute to the care plan development and multidisciplinary meetings and family conferences.

Summary of Position: Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC) and under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, the LPN administers treatments and medications as directed by a physician. The LPN is responsible for the overall well-being of the resident population on their unit.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership and direction to Health Care Aides on the unit
• Provides ongoing assessments of resident’s health status. This includes but is not limited to vital sign monitoring, behavior monitoring, neuro-vital assessments, following established Fall protocols and assessments, pain assessments, skin integrity assessments, and care level review assessment.
• Performs nursing care and procedures and evaluates outcomes. Administers medications to assigned patients according to specific protocols and policies.
• Participates in admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents according to operating policies and procedures.
• Contributes to the development and ongoing changes to the individualized plan of care, including attending and providing input into multidisciplinary care planning meetings and resident and family conferences.

• Leadership skills and ability to facility team building, change and resource management
• Well-developed analytical, judgment, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities
• Strong competency with operating computers and health related technology
• Ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast paced environment

POSITION AVAILABLE:

1. Permanent Full Time: Sunday - Monday from 7am-7pm, Tuesday from 7am-3pm and 2 week rotation w/ rotating Saturdays from 7am-3pm

2. Permanent Full Time: Sunday - Monday from 7am-3pm, Friday from 7am-7pm, and 2 week rotation w/ rotating Saturdays from 7am-3pm

3. Temporary Full Time: Dec 2026-Dec 31, 2027 ( Mat Leave Coverage) - Sunday - Thursday from 7am-3pm
