Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients at Peace River Community Health Centre. The role emphasizes safety, patient-centred care, and teamwork within an interprofessional health care setting.

The LPN will be cross-trained in Emergency, Obstetrics and Acute Care and may cover multiple units as required to meet patient volumes. Current CLHA registration and BCLS-HCP are required; part-time regular status with evenings

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Your Opportunity

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. This dynamic role offers fully supported cross-training in Emergency, Obstetrics, and Acute Care. Once cross-trained, you will use your expanded skill set to provide vital nursing support and coverage across these applicable units as assigned to meet operational needs and changing patient volumes. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
