Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide direct medical services and act as an internal resource establishing and maintaining third party client relationships. This position is responsible for performing all non-physician direct occupational health testing services as assigned.
Location:#205, 10126 - 97 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7X6Employment Type:Permanent Full-Time (benefits eligible)Shift hours:Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (37.5 hours per week); On-call rotation and shy bladder after hours requirement.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Provides urine drug and breath alcohol testing.
  • Responsible for providing medical activities for occupational testing services such as nursing physicals, audiograms, Pulmonary function test, ECG’s, vision testing, blood pressure as well as other medical assessments as requested.
  • Assists with internal medical policy and procedure development.
  • Orders medical supplies as required.
  • Trains contract employees on medical equipment use.
Knowledge, Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program.
  • Current registration, and insurance (if applicable), with applicable provincial regulatory body is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical experience performing nursing duties in a clinical setting.
  • Certification as a Professional Urine Drug Screen Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician is desirable.
  • A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record are required.
  • Able to be on-call during evenings and weekends (reliable transportation is a must).
