We are currently seeking the right person to join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Long-Term Care of our Health Services Neighborhood.

As a Registered Nurse, you will enrich lives every day by ensuring residents in our Health service neighborhoods receive the highest level of dignity and care. In this role, you will plan, direct, and assist with resident care activities, including the resident care plan. Educational Requirements :
  1. Completion of a Registered Nurse degree or Diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
  2. Current RN license with the CARNA.
  3. Geriatric nursing experience is helpful.
Position Requirements :
  1. Responsible for adhering to all Standards of Nursing Practice and to the Health Professions Act of Alberta.
  2. Genuinely interested in caring for older adults and working in the geriatric nursing environment.
  3. Must possess organization and leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to plan, direct, supervise, and assist with resident care activities and employee responsibilities.
  4. Ability to effectively observe and document residents' behavior (i.e., changes in physical and emotional conditions).
  5. Ability to model constructive work behavior for LPN / HCA’s and other interdisciplinary members.
  6. Ability to discipline and re-direct improper work habits.
  7. Patient and tactful in relating to residents, family members, volunteers, visitors, physicians, and the general public. Willingness to accept supervision.
  8. Commitment to confidentiality regarding resident status and medical records.
  9. Ability to work well with co-workers, demonstrate integrity, and express a sense of humor.
Position Responsibilities :
  1. Plan, direct, and assist with resident care activities, including the resident care plan.
  2. Direct and manage LPN / HCA’s.
  3. Foster inter-shift and inter-departmental communications.
  4. Transcribe and implement physician orders.
  5. Administer medications as outlined in the Medication Administration policy and procedure.
  6. Manage MDS tracking, provide clinical support, monitor IPS, and document shift reports.
