Job summary

You will work with an interprofessional team, use nursing processes, and participate in care planning, with shift patterns including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.

As key members of the nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible to provide safe, person-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for clients in continuing care settings. They collaborate with the interdisclipinary team, administer medications and treatments, and support clients in daily living to enhance their health and quality of life. This role focuses on Continuing Care at the Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, a 60-bed Type A facility that includes two secure units of 40 dementia-care beds. Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Continuing Care nursing is preferred.
• Training in Connect Care and proficiency in general computer skills are also desirable.
• Experience with care planning and interRAI LTCF is beneficial, along with CCHSS education.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team.
