Job summary

The New Brunswick Extra‑Mural Program (EMP) seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse in Bathurst to deliver quality patient care within the scope of professional LPN practice across the lifespan. You will join an interdisciplinary EMP team focused on providing highly coordinated primary health care in home and community settings.

Qualified candidates have active ANBLPN registration, 3+ years in medical/surgical, palliative and wound care, and skills in medication administration, phlebotomy and physical

Qualifications

• Active LPN registration with ANBLPN
• Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care and wound care experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to administer medications, perform phlebotomy and conduct physical assessment
• Current CPR Level C certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months
• Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License

JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the interdisciplinary EMP team, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care within the scope of professional LPN practice to patients and families throughout their life span.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses
• Active registration with ANBLPN;
• Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care and wound care experience in an acute care setting;
• Demonstrated education and experience related to medication administration, phlebotomy and physical assessment;
• A good driving record with a valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License;
• Have a current CPR Level C certification or be prepared to obtain within 3 months;
• Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision making skills;
• Support student placements initiatives;
• Able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record;
• A high regard for confidentiality; and
• Submit a valid and clean criminal record check.
