Job summary

Wainbee in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a licensed Diesel Mechanic I (Red Seal) to diagnose, overhaul, and repair tractors and trailers on a Tuesday–Saturday schedule. The role offers a competitive hourly pay of $40.00–$45.00 with shift premiums and strong benefits.

You will work with current diagnostic equipment in a heated shop, perform preventive maintenance, and identify warrantable repairs. A Manitoba journeyperson Red Seal certification and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification or Manitoba journeyperson status in Truck & Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on tractor-trailer experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul and repair tractors and trailers across the fleet.
• Perform major component work: engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems.
• Work on air and hydraulic brake systems, steering, wheel ends, suspension, HVAC.
• Perform preventive maintenance with proper documentation.
• Identify warrantable repairs and write them on the repair order.
• Road test to confirm the fix before the unit returns to service.

Licensed Diesel Mechanic I (Red Seal)

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pay: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing, overhauling and repairing tractors and trailers across the fleet
• Major component work: engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, complete assemblies
• Air and hydraulic brake systems, steering, wheel ends, suspension, HVAC
• Preventive maintenance at all levels, documented properly
• Identifying warrantable repairs and writing them up on the repair order
• Road testing to confirm the fix before the unit goes back out
• Working independently, at your own pace, without someone hovering

What you bring

• Red Seal or Manitoba journeyperson certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
• 5+ years hands-on tractor-trailer experience
• Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement, or the ability to obtain it within six months
• Full set of hand tools
• Certification in good standing with Apprenticeship Manitoba

• $40.00 to $45.00 per hour base on days
