Job summary

The Ministry of Forests in Port McNeill (Hybrid) is seeking a Licensed Authorizations Officer to lead the review and administration of Land Act authorizations, supporting Crown land allocations and the adjudication of resource applications across the North Island – Central Coast district.

You will work closely with First Nations and stakeholders, providing guidance on forest licences to cut, cutting permits, and special use permits to help shape decisions that sustain Crown land and coastal

Qualifications

• Degree in natural resources or equivalent recognized by FPBC.
• Registered or eligible for FPBC registration as an RPF.
• Recent experience in natural resource management (within 3 years).
• Recent experience engaging with First Nations and/or stakeholders.
• Valid BC driver’s licence.
• Willingness to conduct field work in remote areas and all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and administration of Land Act authorizations.
• Support allocation of Crown land and adjudication of resource applications.
• Provide advice on forest licences to cut, cutting permits, and special use permits.
• Collaborate with First Nations, local stakeholders and colleagues.
