Jim Pattison Lexus Northshore is looking for a motivated Service Technician to work with the Lexus brand and our Service Department. Lexus is known for its quality, reliability, attention to detail, and strong focus on the customer experience. Our technicians play a big part in keeping that standard through the quality of their work.
As a Lexus Technician, you’ll work on a range of Lexus vehicles and get hands‑on experience with the brand’s technology, diagnostic systems, and repair procedures. You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in doing the job properly, keeping vehicles safe and reliable, and providing customers with the level of service they expect from Lexus.
Pay Range: $38.00 to $44.00 hourly flat rate depending on certification and level of experience.
A Day in the Life
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements
- Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team
- Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work
- Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling
- Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information
- Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment
What We’re Looking For
- Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification or currently in the process of challenging it
- Previous experience as an automotive technician is required
- A valid BC Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required
- Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
- Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
- Ability to work in an automotive shop environment
- Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays
- Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust
- Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment
- Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation)
