Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a North London primary school. You will support learning in the classroom and through small-group and individual interventions, working closely with class teachers.

The role involves supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths, building positive relationships, and promoting a safe, inclusive environment for all pupils. Term-time, full-time with start date in September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Confident supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths.
  • Patient, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.
  • Good safeguarding and child protection understanding.
  • Committed to helping every child reach their potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where appropriate.
  • Lead structured interventions such as phonics, reading, writing or maths activities.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Support pupils during break and lunchtime when required.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: North London

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Start Date: September 2026

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in North London.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing. You will provide support both within the classroom and through small-group and individual interventions.

The role will include:
  • Supporting the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities.
