Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary on-call delivery agent (Letter Carrier) in Thompson, MB. You will start at the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, and drive a Canada Post vehicle to deliver mail and parcels on your route.

The role requires a valid driver’s licence, the ability to lift up to 22.7 kg, work in all weather, and be available on-call. English and/or French language ability is required. Training and potential for permanent employment are provided.

Qualifications

• A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Availability to be on-call.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages on your route, by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3years (driver's abstract required)
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7kg (50lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9kg (35lb) regularly throughout the day
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
