Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking a Business Analyst (Legal Services Division) in Edmonton to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will lead reporting through Power BI, SSRS, and SQL Server-based solutions, supporting lawyers, staff, and executives across the Legal Services Division.

You will design dashboards, validate data quality, and contribute to process improvements using Power Automate and Power Apps.

Qualifications

University graduation (4 years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
Plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a related technical area.
Equivalency: 1 year education for 1 year experience or 1 year experience for 1 year education.

Responsibilities

Transform complex operational and financial data into meaningful insights for decision-making.
Design, build, and maintain Power BI and SSRS reports, dashboards, and datasets.
Administer Power BI environment, ensure security and performance.
Validate data quality and reconcile information across systems.
Maintain data models, SQL views, and DAX measures for scalability.
Support ProLaw and automate processes using Power Platform.
Consult with staff and directors to understand reporting needs and enable self-service.
