Job Description: Legal Counsel at Prevost

Prevost, a division of Volvo Group Canada Inc., is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Ste-Claire site. Are you looking for a new challenge with social, economic, and environmental impact? What you'll do

Provide legal advice to support Prevost's daily business and operations in North America, mainly in corporate and commercial law, contract review, regulatory compliance, and litigation.

Your responsibilities

• Offer legal opinions on matters related to North American operations, applicable laws, regulations, and Volvo Group policies.
• Review and negotiate various commercial contracts, including sales, supply, and IT contracts.
• Advise on legal risks and propose business options.
• Monitor litigation files with external lawyers.
• Support bidding teams for smooth tender processes.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Organize and deliver in-house legal training.
• Prepare reports and presentations for Volvo Group and Prevost's Executive Committee.
• Perform other legal tasks related to company activities.

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s degree in law and member of a professional association
• Knowledge of Common Law (asset)
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in commercial law
• Expertise in contract review and supplier contracts
• Litigation management skills, especially in product liability (asset)
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a dynamic environment
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with excellent writing abilities
