Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify legal and contractual solutions to enable procurement and business teams to conclude agreements and achieve objectives.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts including SaaS, license, goods & services, MOUs and partnerships.
  • Advise on indemnification, liability, warranties, and other commercial terms in supplier deals.

Based in Montreal, this role is a key player in enabling business deals with suppliers to proceed in a timely manner while advising and/or negotiating contractual terms for CAE.Responsibilities:Identify legal and contractual solutions to enable procurement and business teams to conclude agreements and achieve operational, technical and cost-savings objectives.Draft and negotiate different types of contracts related to all CAE business units such as but not limited to Software as a Service (SAAS) agreement, license agreements, agreements for the acquisition of goods & services, memoranda of agreements, letters of intent and partnership agreements.Recommend legal and contractual risk-mitigation strategies addressing indemnification, liability, warranties and other commercial and business terms.Advise procurement teams and business units on contractual matters related to supply arrangements and joint collaborations, with a focus on intellectual property and technology licensing and related agreements.Minimum QualificationsUniversity degree in law or relevant equivalent experienceFive to ten (5-10) years of experience working in a law firm or a corporation, including experience in the negotiation of licensing agreements, intellectual property, commercial transactions and drafting of commercial agreements.Flexible in contract negotiations and able to propose legal solutions that enable procurement and business teams to conclude agreements.Ability to draft and adapt contractual language creatively in response to business needs and requirements as communicated by stakeholders with limited contracting experience.Agile in the use of digital tools such as MS Office and SAP Ariba.Bilingual (French and English), both orally and in writing.Preferred QualificationsCollaborates with various stakeholders using good business acumen and customer-focused mind-set.Autonomous, proactive and capable of multi-tasking within a high pressure, fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills.BenefitsGroup InsuranceTelemedicine Employee and Family Assistance ProgramEmployee Stock Purchase PlanGroup RRSPCAE Pension Plan/Defined Benefit PlanSabbatical LeaveFlex TimeEnhanced Parental Leave#LI-IT1About CAEAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place.
