Who We Are:

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd., selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension - Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. This extension will expand TTC's Line 2 subway service by nearly eight kilometers into Scarborough, from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, enhancing transit connectivity and reducing travel times across the region.

We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to support our Legal Counsel as part of this project.

What You Will Do:

  1. Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures.
  2. Format documents and draft letters according to prescribed legal standards.
  3. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
  4. Organize, coordinate, and prioritize all incoming and outgoing information and correspondence.
  5. Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and administer contracts and other documents.
  6. Manage files, including creating, maintaining, and utilizing an organized filing and retrieval system.
  7. Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and video conferences, organize materials, and take minutes.
  8. Collaborate with departments such as finance, marketing, and HR as needed.
  9. Provide legal administrative and clerical support to the legal counsel.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience You Will Bring:

  1. Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or Law Clerk certification.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Administrator, preferably in construction or infrastructure sectors.
  3. In-depth knowledge of legal and business terminology.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  7. Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
