We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Calgary team.

Responsibilities
  1. Handling file opening and closing procedures
  2. Drafting correspondence and pleadings
  3. Scheduling Questionings, Mediations, Applications, and other appointments, and preparing necessary documentation
  4. Communicating with courts, experts, court reporters, process servers, interpreters, etc.
  5. Submitting and sending pleadings for filing and service
  6. Interacting with clients via phone, email, and in person
  7. Supporting a team of three lawyers
  8. Delegating tasks to a junior Legal Administrative Assistant
  9. Maintaining the filing system, including the bring-forward system
  10. Performing related duties as required
Qualifications for Success
  • Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant program
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant in litigation
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Professional communication with clients
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to draft standard correspondence and documents independently
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Litigation experience is essential
