Legal Administrative Assistant

NOC Job Code/Title: 13111 - Legal Administrative Assistant

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience

Experience: 1-2 Years Work Experience Required as an assistant

Work Setting: Legal Office

Responsibilities/Tasks
  1. Schedule and confirm appointments
  2. Maintain filing system
  3. Record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings or conferences
  4. Determine and establish office procedures and routines
  5. Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
  6. Prepare financial statements and reports
  7. Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents
  8. Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
  9. Prepare and process real estate documents and contracts
  10. Assist with scheduling appointments, taking phone calls and meetings
  11. Handle inquiries from clients and potential buyers
  12. Drafting and preparation of Deeds, Mortgages and all other documents necessary for registration
  13. Assist with budget tracking and expense management
  14. Assist in general legal files

The candidate must have the ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative as well as have a willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment.
