Job summary

RBC in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a Lease Underwriting Associate to identify and manage risks in equipment financing transactions. You will work with Equipment Financing Specialists and internal partners to deliver lease solutions, building expertise in lease structures, valuation, and deal management.

The role emphasizes client service, rigorous due diligence, compliance with policies, and cross-functional collaboration to support RBC's One RBC mindset and growth in Equipment Finance.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in a fast-paced, client-facing office environment.
• Working knowledge of lease, financing, and ancillary documentation.
• Good math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Sound judgment and risk assessment capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Transaction Processing: Review and process Fast Track deals, ABC renewals, lease restructures, amalgamations, and asset substitutions within established timelines and quality standards (80% of role)
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and elevate transaction risks; ensure compliance with RBC Equipment Finance policies; conduct comprehensive due diligence on know-your-client and transaction details; adhere to anti-money laundering and fraud prevention requirements (20% of role)
• Client Service: Deliver exceptional client experiences through efficient, accurate transaction handling; document key details in systems; elevate concerns promptly to minimize client impact
• Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy and completeness of underwriting activities; maintain data integrity across systems; participate in process improvement initiatives
