Job summary

Humber Polytechnic is seeking a Learning Management System Administrator to support the North Campus LMS within a hybrid work arrangement. You will coordinate with IT Services, Banner, and academic partners to ensure system alignment and reliable operation.

Key duties include day-to-day LMS administration, advanced technical support, vendor liaison, and building datasets. You’ll provide tier-three support for faculty, staff and students and help evaluate new ed-tech solutions for institutional

Qualifications

  • Three-year diploma/degree in educational technologies or related field.
  • Ongoing upgrading and training relevant to the LMS and ed tech tools.
  • Five years of experience in an Education Technology environment with project management.
  • Experience administering a robust LMS in a medium to large institution.
  • Experience creating and maintaining databases with current tools.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and overall performance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination for LMS stability.
  • Work closely with the Banner team and ITS to ensure systems alignment.
  • Create and maintain relevant databases and datasets.
  • Provide tier-three escalated support for faculty, staff and students for the LMS and related ed-tech tools.
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot Learning Tools Interoperability and educational technology issues.

Job Details:

Position Title: Learning Management System Administrator

Status: PNRK - Project of a Non-Recurring Kind

Hours: 40 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Digital Learning

Campus/Location: North Campus – must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of four (4) days on-site.

Salary: Min. $38.25 – Max. $44.32

About Digital Learning at Humber:

Digital Learning at Humber Polytechnic supports innovative, accessible, and engaging teaching and learning through the effective use of digital technologies. The department works collaboratively with faculty and academic partners to enhance learning experiences, strengthen digital teaching practices, and support the delivery of high-quality education across Humber.

About the Learning Management System Administrator Role:

In addition to the Learning Management System, the Learning Management System Administrator supports other educational technology tools and may act as a backup administrator for key systems. The position provides business analysis and project management support for new and ongoing initiatives, working closely with Information Technology Services, Banner, and institutional stakeholders to ensure system alignment, integration, and successful project delivery. The Learning Management System Administrator also provides advanced (tier-three) support, advises on course builds, and evaluates emerging technologies for potential institutional adoption.

Key Duties

Support the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and overall performance of the Learning Management System (LMS).

Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination to ensure LMS stability, reliability, and issue resolution.

Work closely with the Banner team and Information Technology Services to ensure systems remain aligned.

Create and maintain relevant databases and datasets.

Provide tier-three escalated support for faculty, staff and students for the Learning Management System and related third-party educational technologies.

Work with vendors to troubleshoot Learning Tools Interoperability and educational technology issues.

Education

3-year diploma/degree A diploma or degree related to educational technologies or computer software.

On-going upgrading and training relevant to the LMS and other ed tech tools supported in Innovative Learning

Experience/Skills

Five years: Related, progressively responsible experience in an Education Technology environment with evidence of effective project management and strong interpersonal skills.

Direct experience with the administration of a robust, mainstream LMS tool in a medium- to large institution.

Experience creating and maintaining databases using current authoring tools.

Demonstrated capacity for establishing and maintaining good working relationships across multiple departments in a large institution

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team environment.
