Job summary

Join to apply for the Learning & Development Specialist role at Calgary Co-op.

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist responsible for designing, developing and delivering organizational development programs.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement people development programs and initiatives to support employee and leadership development, succession planning and talent management.
  • Provide consultative and advisory support to the business in talent management programs.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments, identify gaps and present recommendations.
  • Create online courses, microlearning assets, workshops, presentations, reference guides and other learning materials.
  • Facilitate meetings, deliver online and in person learning programs related to organizational needs.
  • Research and apply a variety of learning technologies and methodologies to address development needs.
  • Evaluate learning solutions, including in-house and third-party learning programs.
  • Support the implementation of the training calendar including liaising with facilitators, managing training registrations, answering inquiries, logistics and planning.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Education, or related field (diploma, certificate or degree) combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or learning and development. An equivalent combination of directly related post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of adult learning and instructional design theory and application.
  • Experience providing advisory service to the business in talent management and learning and development.
  • Experience working with eLearning software and Learning Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience developing in person and on-line learning programs.
  • Working knowledge of Talent Management programs and Human Resources processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education or related field.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Learning or Instructional Design.
  • Experience developing eLearning courses using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) or comparable authoring tools, Camtasia, Vyond, Captivate, or graphic/video editing software.
  • Human Resources or training experience in unionized environment.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
