Job summary

University of Fredericton is seeking a Learning Design Consultant to develop online courses across certificate, diploma, undergraduate and graduate programs for a one-year term. You will work with SMEs and academic partners to translate outcomes into defined course frameworks, assessments, and learning pathways.

You will apply responsible AI practices, ensure accessibility, and support production-ready content for digital publishing and LMS delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Studies or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of online course design experience in a post-secondary environment or similar adult-learning setting.
• Experience collaborating with faculty/SMEs to develop courses from outcomes and assessment design to online materials.
• Knowledge of CLO-to-PLO mapping, assessment alignment, and LMS usage.
• Experience applying accessibility and Universal Design for Learning in online content.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs to define course descriptions, syllabi, learning outcomes, and mapping from CLO to PLO.
• Support AI-supported development while ensuring content accuracy and alignment with program levels.
• Edit and organize draft content into learner-centered materials aligned to course outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to responsible AI use, copyright, privacy, and quality controls.
• Maintain documentation of design decisions, reviews, and content changes throughout development.
• Assist with production readiness and integration into LMS workflows.
• Identify and implement improvements to templates, workflows, and development practices.
