The Leader, Solutions Engineering will serve in a player-coach role, balancing leadership with individual contributions. In this position, you will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while actively engaging in squad work. Your primary focus will be to bridge product teams, product marketing, business development, and client relationships, fostering a collaborative environment that delivers exceptional client solutions and drives revenue growth.

You’ll be responsible for:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing the strategic vision for the solutions engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals.

  2. Team Development & Innovation: Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Encouraging creative problem-solving to develop cutting-edge client solutions.

  3. Talent & Performance Management: Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent while providing ongoing training and development. Setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular reviews, and offering constructive feedback.

  4. Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, product marketing, product teams, and senior management. Advocating for customers by conveying valuable insights to product and marketing teams.

  5. Solution Development & Sales Enablement: Driving the solutioning phase of the sales journey by pitching cross-product use cases to address client needs. Providing clients with training, use case articulation, and sales support to demonstrate the value of Interac’s products.

  6. Pre-Sales & Post-Integration Support: Engaging in discovery sessions with Product Owners to explore opportunities, craft solution proposals, and create supporting materials like presentations and demos. Providing detailed consultation to ensure solutions meet client needs.

  7. Partner Integration & Technical Consultation: Acting as an SME on multiple partner integration projects, ensuring continuity from initial product exploration to implementation and usage. Ensuring partner interfaces meet both business and technical requirements.

  8. Continuous Improvement: Optimizing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency.

  9. Resource Allocation: Effectively managing resources to meet objectives and deliver high-quality solutions.

  10. Tracking & Reporting: Monitoring progress on pipeline opportunities using CRM tools, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making. Supporting proof of concepts, tech trials, and feedback loops.

  11. Industry Awareness: Staying informed on industry trends, tech advancements, and the competitive landscape to provide strategic recommendations.

You bring:

  1. 10+ years of hands-on experience in the payment industry or as a Solutions Engineer with the ability to provide technical consulting/support.

  2. A Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field.

  3. Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  4. Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

  5. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  6. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  7. Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and foster a collaborative environment.

  8. A demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
